The importance of exercise

I started a post about the baby names we chose, but was interrupted several times throughout writing it. One of those times my computer crashed, and then the entire post was lost. I will attempt to redo this post at some point, though it will likely be the short version. Not tonight, though.

My poor dog had her annual appointment with the vet this week, and she gained TEN POUNDS between this year and last year. We feed her a really healthy food, don’t give her many treats, and basically have been feeding her the same amount we always have. So what has changed? In November I was instructed to stop running, and therefore she stopped running. We still took walks, but apparently those do not offer the same benefits. Poor Nieve!

The solution? Will is going to start running with her again. I will try to gradually get back into running as well, but I am afraid of messing up my milk supply, so I probably won’t get back to our 20-25 mile weeks until after I stop nursing. I am currently walking her for about 40 minutes in the evenings, and I will try to start working in a few minutes of running here and there.

I need this to be a reminder about the importance of exercise and the benefits of running!

About Twins Happen

My husband and I learned that we were having twins in October of 2010. I started this blog so that family and friends could follow my pregnancy and the development of our children. I'm continuing to post about my girls, parenting, and trying to balance work, family time, and fitness.
